Individual Awards • a scholarship of $25,000 to be used for professional development purposes and sharing at schools or institutions in or outside Hong Kong; • a trophy; and •   membership of an assembly of accomplished teachers. The assembly will provide a forum for awardees to share or further good teaching practices with other fellow teachers. Group Awards •   for each group of awardees, a scholarship of $50,000 to be used for professional development purposes and sharing at schools and institutions in or outside Hong Kong; • a trophy ; and •   membership of an assembly of accomplished teachers. The assembly will provide a forum for awardees to share or further good teaching practices with other fellow teachers. Nominees whose teaching practices worth commendation may be presented with a Certificate of Merit as a token of appreciation. As this Scheme seeks to encourage collaboration among teachers, there is no preset number of awards to be given. What does it mean by "an assembly of accomplished teachers"? It is a forum to facilitate awardees to share their practices with others and to foster changes in the teaching culture. Awardees will participate in activities that help promote professional sharing and the development of a culture of excellence. They will have a choice as to the activities that fit their interest and schedules. The Quality Education Fund and the Education and Manpower Bureau will provide appropriate support to awardees for them to participate in the dissemination and sharing activities. Any award for nominators? As a token of appreciation, Nominators whose nominations are awarded for exemplary teaching practices will be honoured a scholarship of $2,500 to be used for professional development purposes or book coupons of the same value. When will the Awards be presented? The award presentation ceremony will be held in September 2004. We shall announce details at a later stage.
